veryone loves receiving something in the post, right? Not bills, obviously – I’m talking a little monthly pick-me-up, just for you. Whether you love beauty products and trying new things, or perhaps are not sure where to start with makeup and skincare and need recommendations, a subscription beauty box is a fun way to try out products you may not have otherwise picked, and often at a fraction of the cost. I’ve used various boxes over the years and have discovered some of my favourites this way; products I would not have looked twice at but now frequently buy. There are quite a few options on the market, so choose wisely to make sure you don’t end up with products you won’t use. I prefer to opt for companies that offer full-size or large products, rather than tiny plastic or foil-wrapped samples, to cut down on waste materials. Boxes are often so gorgeous that they make great keepsakes for stashing jewellery or other storage items, too. Some services will allow you to tailor what you receive, and you should be able to choose one-off boxes or a subscription service at various lengths, which makes them great for gifts, as well! Birchbox is considered one of the OGs when it comes to beauty boxes; the box is filled each month with five beauty treats tailored to your skin, hair and style, all for £10 a month. Enjoy decent-sized products in your box, where past heroes have included a Mélusine Jade Roller, The Beauty Crop, Laura Geller makeup, Eyeko

Taking a mindful approach, the Natural Wellness Box aims to help improve your health and wellbeing, with all the included products being cruelty and chemical free as well as vegan. With natural skincare, healthy treats and supplements delivered to you bimonthly, brands have THE ONE THAT I WANT included Bloomtown, Wild Source Apothecary, Green People and more. A one-off box costs £37, with options for subscriptions for further savings. I tried out a box and loved the
