FOOD & DR INK
The countdown is on for this year’s Eat Cambridge, which returns – ever so slightly later than usual – from 22 to 31 May. Showcasing the city’s independent food and drink scene through pop-up events, supper clubs, talks and more, the event started life in 2013 and has gone from strength to strength, establishing itself as Cambridge’s foremost food festival. This year’s main event, a huge market in the Corn Exchange, is taking place on Saturday 23 May, offering a chance to try and buy your way around the wares of a whole host of great local traders. Heidi White, festival director, comments: “I’m delighted to announce that the Eat Cambridge Main Event will be returning to the Corn Exchange venue this year. We have an incredible line-up of local food and drink stalls, including some new faces and old favourites, too. Our festival patron, Rosie Sykes, is busy behind the scenes organising her festival supper, featuring some top local chefs and supporting a very worthy local charity. We’re also very excited to help Fitzbillies celebrate its centenary year at Eat Cambridge. We can’t release the full details of our stallholders, speakers and fringe programme just yet, but stay tuned to find out more. We’ll be ready to share the full festival programme in a month or so, when you’ll be able to pick up our brochure at indies all over the city and on the Eat EAT CAMBRIDGE 2020
Cambridge website.” eat-cambridge.co.uk
