CAPTURING HIGH-QUALITY STILLS and video is just the beginning. There’s a long way to go before you are ready to enjoy a beautiful print or a polished video, and to make the process as smooth as possible you need an ironed-out workflow. Our nominations take in all the essentials except the computer itself, so we start with the monitor. You will spend hours in front of it, so it pays to invest wisely. Of course, a monitor needs to be calibrated for a colour-correct performance – and that’s before getting to software for your editing needs, where the choice is huge. Finally, to realise your vision, you need a photo-quality printer and media.
