Lighting Stills and video shooters won’t get far without that essential ingredient: light. Most of us rely on the output of the sun, but you may have noticed it’s not reliable! Nor is it available all day long, so to carry on shooting you need to provide your own. For all image makers, constant light is what’s needed. Thanks to LEDs, we have at our disposal an efficient, cool-running and powerful light source. Output is very controllable, and advanced models let you seamlessly match to ambient lighting, or produce bold colours for creative effects. Flash lighting hasn’t stood still either and advances in battery technology mean studio-quality lighting on location is perfectly feasible.
