COME ON IN... With homeware for all budgets, Barnsbury Furniture’s huge showroom means clients can see a statement piece before they buy. Angelina Villa-Clarke meets the owner

T ucked away in the small lovers. The family-run business, owned by Nick Wells, was launched 22 years ago, offering a wide selection of furniture and accessories to local homeowners. “There’s nothing else quite like us around here,” says Nick. “Our 8,000 sq ft showroom is bursting with sofas, dining furniture, beds and accessories. My parents founded the business in 2001, and I took over in 2016. We try and stand out with our showroom, especially in this digital age, as we believe it’s important for customers to see, feel and try out our furniture.” As well as a huge array of products in varying styles and price ranges, Barnsbury Furniture also offers upholstery services, bespoke furniture projects and an interior design consultancy. “The industry has changed over the Cambridgeshire town of Soham, Barnsbury Furniture Store is a treasure trove for interiors last few years, especially when it comes to supply chains. Some lead times are now off-kilter, for instance,” says Nick. “However, our British upholstery suppliers have remained brilliant, and we have strong relationships with the best in the business.”

A hands-on approach is also what sets Barnsbury Furniture apart from competitors – especially those online, believes Nick. “We offer so many different styles of furniture and keep all budgets in mind,” he says. “Quality doesn’t have to cost. Our loyal team is happy to go the extra mile to achieve the look you’re after.” With orders only taken in-store, the company is bucking the trend when it comes to its brick-and-mortar-only
