TRAVEL

Horsley Hale Farm This oasis in the Fens offers an idyllic destination for a stay in the countryside with friends or family. Surrounded by lush greenery, the site is run by husband-and-wife duo Steph and Stuart Hatton, who wanted to create an environment where families could enjoy the memory-making freedom of a camping trip, without skimping on comfort. Extremely kid- and dog-friendly, Horsley Hale boasts a huge range of outdoor activities to keep your whole brood entertained, from den building, wild swimming, paddle boarding, old-school sports days and hot chocolate around the campfire, to cocktail making and lakeside yoga for the grown-ups. As well as classic DIY camping, there’s the option to stay in yurts, nomadic bell tents and safari lodges, with communal cooking facilities, a licensed bar and cafe available to all.

WILD LUXURY, NORFOLK

If you love the idea of wild camping, but aren’t keen on giving up your creature comforts, Wild Luxury could be the place for you. Nestled on the North Norfolk coastline, it offers luxury bell tents and spacious lodges surrounded by impossibly idyllic countryside, woodland and beautiful beaches. The safari-style lodges are warm, light and cosy, with comfy beds, cooking facilities, heating, sofas and private bathrooms.

The Farmstead is a new ‘back to nature’ retreat in the Suffolk plains (near Woodbridge), comprised of eight self-catering lodges. Built on former farmland, these rustic cabins are a perfect blend of comfort and countryside, with each offering fully equipped kitchens, cosy living quarters and private verandas with outdoor bathtubs!
