A selection of springtime festivities, family days out and top-quality baked delights in the local area ON THE RISE Easter Treats

1. FÊTE DU PRINTEMPS Running 1-10 April, the Boule-in Fête du Printemps is a spring spectacular promising to transport you to a French Easter market filled with beautiful treasures and authentic antiques. Taking place in the home and garden of event organisers Peter and Cathy Bullen, it’s a chance to enjoy delicious cakes and coffee while basking in the Provençal atmosphere. Children can make Easter flower crowns as you explore vintage French homeware, bulbs and plants, scrumptious treats and more. All pieces are sourced direct from Provence, hand-picked to be uniquely thoughtful and consciously affordable. “We spend five months a year scouring the best French markets and brocantes, so you don’t have to!” enthuses Cathy. There is something for everyone to enjoy this spring, from gorgeous French baskets and biöt glass goblets to tables, chairs and gardenalia. 2. JOHNSONS OF OLD HURST There’s a world of fun for families at Johnsons of Old Hurst, which offers a budget-friendly day out for the Easter holidays. Over at the zoo, you can find wallabies, macaws, eagle owls and many other animals, but it’s most famous for its collection of crocodiles. There’s also a farm and woodland to explore, as well as a bustling farm shop and food options including a tea room and steakhouse. 3. EASTER EGG TRAILS AT ANGLESEY ABBEY From 1-16 April, little ones can enjoy a world of adventures inspired by the magic of books at Anglesey Abbey’s Easter trail. Taking guests through the estate’s beautiful gardens with nature challenges along the way, the £3 price tag includes a trail sheet, pencil, bunny ears and a chocolate egg. 4.
