Cobalt’s latest addition to its family of broadcast products is the UltraBlue MV-SW IP, SDI and compressed multiviewer. We find out what makes it special SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS
T he Cobalt UltraBlue MV-SW is a flexible software-based premises using standard PC servers, or on the cloud. It is sold either as a software package (bring your own PC) or as a turnkey system, with multiple sizes and options available. UltraBlue MV-SW is provided as an x86-64 image, which can be run in a customer-supplied x86- 64-bit PC environment. It requires GPU acceleration; the number of inputs, streams and heads will be multiviewer for both production and monitoring environments. It can be deployed locally on- a function of the available CPU/ GPU. For customer-supplied PCs, it can drive multiple HDMI displays in any orientation (landscape or portrait, selectable per display). Multiviewers These software-based multiviewers can handle a variety of compressed
MPEG transport streams, ST 2110- 20/30/40 and SDI inputs, and an arbitrary number of outputs (including individual rotation to portrait), with flexible audio routing and an intuitive web interface. UltraBlue also supports a comprehensive set of protocols (UDP, RTP, RTMP, RIST and SRT). UltraBlue MV-SW includes the following functionalities: support for multiple users with different levels of access, support for saving and recalling presets, arbitrary PIP sizing, positioning and rotation, support for on-screen EIA-608/708 closed- captioning encapsulated in the video elementary stream using A/53 and TSL 5.0 tally support. QC probes available on the MV- SW include loss of video, frozen video, black video, loss of audio, silence detected (audio below a threshold), loss of 608 captions, loss of 708 captions, loss of OP47, V-chip detection and SCTE detection.
