BROMPTON TECHNOLOGY TESSERA SQ200

A t NAB Show 2024, Brompton Technology unveiled the Tessera SQ200, the third-gen version of its flagship LED video processor. Built with the same core features as the award- winning SX40, the SQ200 is compatible with all existing Brompton LEDs, but now supports 8K and 4x4K workflows. According to Brompton, the SQ200 is the world’s most powerful 8K LED video processor with 200GB of Ethernet bandwidth – 100GB Ethernet connectivity via a single cable, plus an additional input – far surpassing the SX40. It can also handle irregularly large screens, which extend up to 64K pixels in any direction, via a single unit.

ROE OBSIDIAN R OE Visual has released the Obsidian panel, its first LED display dedicated to in-camera VFX, promising to be a key player in VP. Created with LED stages in mind, it’s ideal for semi-permanent and permanent installations – yet facilitates access points for additional kit. The cinema- orientated panel boasts a 2.6mm pixel pitch, 2500-nit brightness and an impressive 16,000:1 contrast ratio. In the interest of environmentalism, Obsidian uses half as much energy as a traditional LED display, minimising studios’ carbon footprints.
