Life As You See It
Ivan Kristić I mostly photograph landscapes and architectural subjects on film. I’m from Osijek in Croatia, but am now based in Dublin. After years working digitally, I made the switch to analogue. I love the process of working with film, and always strive to create technically strong and creatively engaging images. My favourite formats are 6x9 and 6x7. This photo was made on Kodak Portra 160 with a FUJIFILM GSW690III, a 6x9 format camera, in Osijek. It shows the inside of the old OLT factory (Osijek Iron Foundry and Machine Factory), which is soon to be replaced with an apartment complex. The factory was once one of the largest industrial employers in the region and played a key role in Osijek’s growth in the 20th century. Today, it’s a reminder of its industrial past, even as it moves toward a different future. Instagram: @ivankristic
Chris Sargent I took this photograph in Interlaken, Switzerland. The town has a large, open park that is a popular landing site for paragliders. I got talking to some of the landing crew and they helped me position myself in the right spot to frame up the pilots coming in to land. I wanted to photograph the bright sunshine through the canopies. The FUJIFILM GFX100RF proved up to the task of tracking and focusing on the paragliders, and the large sensor gave plenty of resolution for cropping into the subject. Website: pixelstate.com
