COTTENHAM CURRY HOUSE BAGS TOP AWARD A local curry restaurant has scooped top honours in the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards. Curry Palace in Cottenham has won National Restaurant of the Year – East Anglia region – and celebrated its win by inviting 500 of its most loyal customers to a celebration dinner at Cottenham Village Hall, with performances by Bollywood dance group 4All2Envy, magician Surjit Singh, singers and a stand-up set. As part of the celebration, Curry Palace extended its support to two local charities: Excelcare and Sunflowers Care. “Winning this award is a dream come true for all of us at Curry Palace,” says owner Kosru Miah. “This achievement belongs to our incredible customers. Their unwavering support has been with us every step of the way, and we couldn’t have done it without them.”
LA PIZZICA OPENS IN EDDINGTON A new walk-in pizza restaurant has opened in Eddington Square, offering a combination of Neapolitan classics and La Pizzica originals, Italian desserts, coffee, aperitivi and traditional pizza a portafoglio – also known as ‘wallet pizza’ – which is served folded and ready to go, perfect for lunch. “I’m incredibly excited to welcome the Eddington community and beyond to La Pizzica,” says owner Marco Valente. “My family and I feel blessed to open our first pizzeria in a place close to our home.
