H ello and welcome to a bumper issue of Definition – our biggest since the pandemic hit. Perhaps there’s something in the air? Love is the noun typically used here, and we’re certainly feeling it on the team, now that life feels almost back to normal. That’s why we’ve got two production stories covering different kinds of love. The DOPs on It’s a Sin and Swan Song conducted with great care, craft and technical insight to engage audiences with the narrative of LGBTQ+ rights and deserve the coverage – especially since this is the issue that goes to Cine Gear Expo in LA. It’s been two years since the last show, but Juliane Grosso, chief executive and director, anticipates a great turnout. And while tech is at the core of its existence, it’s the schmoozing that people have missed.
