AN ODE TO THE NATURAL WORLD

Paul Wyer, oil painter Darryl Nantais and Maureen Williams (Swift, pictured), who has painted and drawn birds and flowers from a young age, and has created illustrations for the Country Matters column in the Linton News for 39 years. Alongside the artwork, displays from local wildlife conservation groups will show visitors how to make or order a swift box and help protect the beautiful creatures seen in the exhibition. Inviting visitors to slow down and truly appreciate the wildlife that surrounds us, Flora & Fauna of East Anglia is a new art exhibition opening at Gallery Above & Beyond in Linton on 26 August. Artists taking part include Sachiko Purser, whose work includes watercolours, pastels, Japanese ink painting and woodblock printing; Diana Catchpole, a children’s book illustrator and lino print artist; Ali Ginn, who works in watercolour, exploring the interplay of light, movement and colour.
