INCLUSIVE CULTURE Helping pupils with special educational needs to reach their full potential

SHARED EXPERIENCE How boarding can shape young people’s social skills and independence

Creative inspiration Stephen Perse Cambridge students have been treated to visits from former Peterborough Poet Laureate and Chief Bard of the Fens, Mark Grist, and award-winning author, Lewis Buxton, to celebrate National Poetry Day. Delivering a practical workshop, Buxton (pictured) encouraged year 7 students to write poetry based on their personal experiences. Meanwhile, year 6 pupils at Stephen Perse Cambridge Junior School created their own ‘poetree’ display, a collaborative visual celebration of verse crafted from original poetry written by the pupils on topics of their choice.
