produce, the restaurant at The Grove hotel offers an exceptional selection of local flavours, combined in a menu that evolves with each passing season. The award-winning establishment – with two AA Rosettes – contains three distinct dining areas: a wood-panelled study, an original Georgian dining room and Sundown, their giant tipi tent (with a separate menu). While each has its own personality, all provide superb quality and service, delivered by skilful staff. The hotel has a farm-to-table philosophy, supporting local vendors like H V Graves Butchers and Cromer’s crab- fishing fleet. Resident octogenarian and former owner, John Graveling, grows fresh produce in nearby gardens and glasshouses for use in the kitchens. Cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, coriander, celeriac, carrots, leeks, lettuce, turnips and rocket are especially abundant at this time of year. Guests can enjoy an à la carte menu as a two- or three-course meal. The Grove also has the option of a prix fixe ‘5 from 25’ menu (five courses from within a 25-mile radius), breakfast menu, children’s menu and extensive wine list. Open in warmer weather, Sundown – found in a giant tipi – boasts tapas, seafood, stone-baked pizzas and ice cream. In the two years since its opening, Sundown has welcomed locals and visitors alike into its rustic, semi-outdoor setting. It’s best suited to lighter meals, enjoyed in the summer The hotel has a farm-to-table philosophy months. Be sure to book a table before autumn sets in! The Grove also serves afternoon tea between 2pm and 4pm, with a selection of traditional and flavoured teas, sandwiches, scones and other sweet treats. Champagne is optional (but recommended)! As well as its restaurants, The Grove’s accommodation is available year round, with a range of rooms at affordable prices. For bigger parties or those seeking a more memorable stay, the holiday cottages, shepherd’s lodge and glamping yurts are excellent options. Pre-book a glamping hamper for an even more decadent time.
