STAYCATIONS

THE DELUXE RUSTIC RETREAT The Farmstead Ever wanted to disappear into a log cabin in the wilderness for a few days? Well The Farmstead allows you to do exactly that – with a luxury spin! This incredible retreat launched earlier this year, and idyllic doesn’t even begin to capture what the team has made. Its rustic chic interiors are straight out of a design magazine, with sumptuous fabrics and antique furniture. Step outside and you’re greeted by a rolling wildflower meadow – and beyond that, miles of lush, peaceful countryside perfect for enjoying from your private veranda. Every detail has been thought out at The Farmstead, with little touches all around to delight visitors. The remarkably well-appointed kitchens boast designer coffee machines, multiple fridges, freshly baked bread and other local treats, plus everything you need to create a feast, from cake tins to griddle pans. This is hands down one of the greatest escapes in East Anglia.

THE STATELY STAY

These traditional log cabins provide ample opportunity to get outdoors and bask in nature, with a wildlife lake at the centre of the site. Each self-catered lodge promises a private hot tub, while the Kingfisher Lodge has a sauna. For a further dash of luxury, an indoor pool is also onsite. WINDMILL LODGES THE OUTDOORSY HAVEN

THE ICKWORTH HOTEL AND APARTMENTS Many visit Ickworth House – a grand palace on the border of Bury St Edmunds, managed by the National Trust – not knowing they can further immerse themselves in this history- steeped estate. Ickworth is host to a beautiful hotel, set within a staggering 1,800 acres. Choose from swish luxury suites or comfy family-sized rooms. The hotel adopts a family-focused approach, offering small sharing plates for parents with little ones to tuck into, or ‘grown-up’ dining constituting seasonal dishes and vintage wines. Make sure to wander out of the palace and into the grounds, where secret gardens and lakes are waiting to be explored.

THE QUIRKY CABIN The Easternmost Cabin On the Suffolk coast, this two-bed let is built on the site of three former Victorian farm workers’ cottages, torn down due to coastal erosion. Don’t let this put you off – the stunning abode has sea views that are hard to beat, which can be enjoyed in utter tranquillity and seclusion. The cabin is footsteps away from the beach and a ten-minute cycle into Southwold, a charming town home to its own pier, lighthouse, brewery and a cluster of shops.
