BRIEFINGS INDUSTRY

FUTUREWORKS LAUNCHES ‘LOOK STUDIO’ F utureWorks, a leading post-production vendor based in India, has launched a dedicated LUT studio that unites its colour services and rental division. Housed within its colour facility, the studio serves as a creative hub where solutions can be tested, integrated and perfected before being deployed on location. The studio floor features a 35x20 sq ft overall production space and a 14ft height to a full ceiling grid. The facility’s live grading carts and data management set-ups connected to the main colour grading suites allow DOPs to test cameras and lenses, as well as build looks and LUTs alongside acclaimed FutureWorks colourists. Captured tests can also be reviewed on DCI projection, HDR and SDR broadcast monitors inside the Baselight colour grading suites. This facility ensures thorough testing of the entire colour workflow, covering capture, data, conformity, grading, mastering and QC. “Our commitment to investing in both the training and deployment of colourists alongside cinematographers – and training imaging technicians on location – has yielded positive results for FutureWorks,” according to co-founder Gaurav Gupta. “We’re continually pushing the boundaries of imaging through providing a variety of comprehensive solutions which seamlessly blend technical excellence with creative freedom.”
