SPAIN’S RTVE BREAKS NEW GROUND I n December, Spain’s RTVE became the first television broadcaster in

the country to film a live programme using large format camera sensors. This milestone was achieved during Los Conciertos de Radio 3 , which used Sony FX9 full-frame cameras in 4K. The team had been looking to switch to HD for some time, aiming to replace their 2/3-inch format SD cameras with full-frame sensor cameras so they could broadcast in 4K to achieve a shallower depth-of-field and more cinematic look.
