SAVOUR & SIP

The Doughnut Decade

In honour of its tenth birthday, sourdough doughnut brand Crosstown is bringing back a fan-favourite flavour. The sea salt caramel & banana cream doughnut first launched in 2014 when the brand started up in London. “From one pop up on London’s Leather Lane in 2014, we’ve opened 23 stores across the capital, plus five regional, and earlier this month attended our first international festival,” says Crosstown CEO, Howard Ebison. “We’ve enjoyed a decade of serving up doughnuts – and what a ten years it’s been! As we reflect, standout moments include launching our award- winning vegan doughnuts, collaborating with the best in the industry, navigating a pandemic, introducing small-batch ice cream, expanding into online gifting and nationwide delivery and, of course, not forgetting developing hundreds of new doughnut recipes.” As part of its Decade of Dough celebrations, the flavour will be available in Crosstown Cambridge and online for delivery to your door in boxes of six or 12.

STANDING TALL Hilton Cambridge City Centre has unveiled On Yer Bike , a sculpture by artist Roberta Wood, as part of the Cambridge Standing Tall exhibition running until 2 June. The sculpture is one of 31 giraffe sculptures adorned with unique designs gracing the streets, parks and open spaces of Cambridge as part of the Wild in Art trail. To celebrate this artistic endeavour, the hotel is extending a special offer to its guests. By downloading the Cambridge Standing Tall app, you can unlock an award by visiting the sculpture to enjoy a one-time 25% discount on any drinks at the Piano Bar for parties of up to six people. Additionally, the hotel has crafted a signature cocktail, Savour Geoffrey’s Savannah Buzz. Each sip of this cocktail captures the vibrant essence of the untamed savannah, paying homage to the natural habitat of giraffes. “We’re thrilled to be part of this wonderful initiative again, following on from the success of the 2021 art trail where we welcomed MOOre Gin Please, who still lives with us permanently in the hotel lobby,” comments Richard Finn, general manager of Hilton Cambridge City Centre. “We’re delighted to host On Yer Bike for 11 weeks, who’s is sitting patiently outside the hotel to welcome all visitors and tourists to our wonderful city.”
