Although much of the huge show remains focused on large-scale media production, there’s an enormous amount for indie filmmakers, production companies and content creators too. The kit we want to see For many visitors, the attraction is the latest gear. IBC falls at an important point in the industry’s launch calendar, so the world’s manufacturers frequently show products for the first time. And there is no shortage of camera brands at the event. Sony, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Blackmagic, Fujifilm and Red will all have their latest technology on display, making IBC one of the rare opportunities to compare a huge range of systems under one roof. Then there’s glass. Sigma, Fujinon, Irix, Zeiss and Samyang, among others, will be showing their latest optics. And lighting has become an increasingly important part of IBC, with the likes of Aputure, Godox and Nanlite among those displaying the latest LED fixtures and control systems.

A solo creator can livestream to an audience that once required a television network to reach. A tiny production company can collaborate internationally using the cloud. Cinema cameras shoot material destined for everything from theatrical screens to TikTok, while AI is rapidly finding its way into editing, audio, grading and production workflows.
