RESTAURANT REVIEW
FILLED WITH FLAVOUR Pint Shop offers creative dishes and a revolving door of beer options, all in a casual, modern setting
as the battered plaice, which wows with its flavoursome coating and sides of rustic curried mushy peas and house tartar sauce. The standout main for me, however, was the charred coley – created by Pint Shop co-founder and chef Benny. This succulent chunk of fish rests on a gasp- inducingly delicious roasted cauliflower and truffle purée, braised field mushrooms and tarragon – each component bursting with harmonious flavour. It’s truly one of the best dishes I’ve ever eaten. What better way to end such a sumptuous experience than with a truly classic dessert? Pint Shop’s burnt Basque cheesecake comes with its own signature twist though: the richness of the soft, creamy cheesecake is perfectly balanced out by its accompanying poached honey and cardamom pear. The chocolate lovers among us, meanwhile, can look forward to exploring the layered flavours and textures of the dark chocolate and olive oil pot with blood orange sorbet and chocolate crumb. Bon appétit!
