STUDIOS SUSTAINABILITY
The Bottle Yard T he Bottle Yard gets its name from the Bristol site’s former function, standing on what used to be a winery and bottling factory. This alone signals the studio’s commitment to repurposing projects. In 2020, the Bottle Yard established its Green Team, a coalition between the studio and Bristol Film Office, to tackle decarbonisation. The studio also works with BAFTA albert, Bristol City Council, Bristol Green Capital Partnership, Bristol Energy Cooperative and Revive Charging
Network, all of whom are contributing to the city’s carbon neutrality target, which it hopes to hit by 2030. Both Bottle Yard sites (TBYS and TBY2) offer recycling, electric vehicle charging, set storage and on-site suppliers, while TBY2 hosts a community-owned rooftop solar array that’s said to be the biggest in the UK. It has undergone albert’s carbon literacy training, participated in its Studio Sustainability Standard and assists productions with albert accreditation.
