A stunning Edwardian end-of-terrace family home in Petersfield has undergone a two-storey extension and renovation. Petersfield House’s makeover is the work of design-led architecture and interior design firm McLaren Excell. A brand synonymous with distinctive contemporary properties and expertly crafted spaces which embrace natural materials, McLaren Excell maintained a highly sympathetic approach to the works, dramatically increasing the light and space while also respecting the property’s original features – such as the traditional Cambridge brick and stone found down the side return. Internally, Cambridge brick has also been used for a more traditional counterpoint to raw concrete. Due to the depth of the house and the dark central area, the team kept the interior palette pastel, while offsetting the coldness of natural East Anglian light through their choice of materials. Pale oak was used on the floors, cabinetry and walls to bring both light and warmth to the space. To view the full McLaren Excell portfolio, visit mclarenexcell.com Minimalist masterpiece
