FEED: Company culture is very important at Blu Digital Group. What things are you looking for when trying to build it?
“I WANT TO LEARN FROM MY LEADERSHIP TEAM. I WANT TO BE CHALLENGED”
PP: When I was putting together our leadership team, I focused on getting quality people that I personally got along with, who had the same vision. I believe that the number one priority in a company is your employees.Treat them well, and they’re going to treat your customers well. Our company is very family-based – that’s how I like to operate. Alignment is number one: that we’re all passionate and wanting the same things. Knowledge is also important, as I want to learn from my leadership team. I want to be challenged, alongside people who aren’t afraid to be vocal. Also vital is wanting and needing to be innovative as disruptors in
FAMILY VALUES Central to Pantoja’s vision is a family-based company that champions diversity, inclusivity and innovation
the industry, always looking ahead for how we can make things better. We should never settle or become complacent. And we’re very big on humour. There are no Is here, there’s no politics. If I build my leadership team in a certain way, it will funnel down to everybody else. We have to also ensure that everyone feels represented, that they have a voice – mentoring others to have a voice. I’m female, and LGBT, so it’s my obligation to represent and provide guidance. It’s so important for us to build that diversity within our company, being as inclusive as possible.
PP: I think there’s more awareness, or maybe there’s just more news on it. And everyone’s doing their best, whether or not it’s the right approach or is being executed correctly. There’s a learning curve. But I’m happy that there’s more awareness and we’re getting stories on it. Talking is the first step to anything. But I think we can do better. We can always do a lot better.
