CAMRADE TRANSPORTER BAGS £167/$189medium, £180/$199 large www.camrade.com

Everything has been designed for a reason. That’s certainly the case in the Transporter range of bags. We tested the Mediumand Large size versions, ideal for carrying a full kit for filmmakers using cinema cameras, although the padded dividers mean they can be used for mirrorless types too. Both bags are sturdy, thanks to the very tough Corduramaterial, yet flexible. The Large size is said to fit a professional camcorder up to 52cm/ 20.5inches while theMedium is for camcorders up to 45cm/17.7inches. We stored a Sony FS5 with the 18-100mm cinema lens and its top handle and LCD attached. There was plenty of room in the Large case, and even theMedium swallowed up the kit and could be zipped up without camera disassembly. If you are taking a camera like this with additional lenses, amonitor/ recorder, batteries and all the rest of the accessories you need, then go for the Large. It’s not muchmore expensive and significantly bigger. If a compact-size bag is your priority,

You don’t get to your 20th anniversary without making products that do what they are designed to do, at a fair price. Bag firmCamrade has reached that milestone by focusing on bags and protection for filmmakers. Made in France from top-qualitymaterials, Camrademakes all sorts of protection for filmmaking kit such as custom-fit rain covers, audio bags, tripod bags and even snow covers and desert covers for cameras. As the company just focuses on bags for filmmakers rather than diversifying into lots of different products, it really concentrates on what’s important for real-world shooters out in the field. It shows in not only the quality of the products but also the details, such as special pockets for memory cards and zips with storm flap covers to keep out the elements.

then theMedium can also work for a pro camera although youmay have to disassemble it to get everything inside. Both bags come with adjustable internal dividers, and very big external pockets for smaller accessories. There is also a neat lens cover, designed to fit over a cine lens with a large rectangular lens hood or matte box. That’s a nice touch and keeps the kit safe. Both bags also come with a padded lens case and an accessory pouch which takes a full-size iPad in the Large model. TheMediumhas a smaller pouch which would fit an iPadMini or some cables. And both also have a very well padded shoulder strap in a soft suedematerial. It’s classy and does take the strain off your shoulder very well. In the dark grey or black colour options, the cases look smart and stealthy which is ideal to keep attention away fromyour pricey camera kit. AD.
