JUNE ESSENTIAL A DIP IN THE LIDO Jesus Green’s open-air pool is now officially open for its 2019 summer season, so if you’ve been missing the lido over the cooler months, now’s your chance to jump back in! It took 2.4 million litres to fill the tank to ready the pool for opening day, getting off to a slightly chilly start on the first day with a rather perky pool temperature of 10°C. Don’t worry, though; as the weather warms so will the pool, which is one of the longest lidos in Europe at 91 metres. Come sunny days, this little corner of Cambridge feels like a secluded summertime paradise. Pack a book and your shades and pitch up by the side for a sunbathe, hopping in for an occasional dip to cool off (of course, it’s more than suitable for doing actual exercise in too, we hear).
