The latest Gemini 1x1 Hard RGBWW uses intensifying lenses in front of the LEDs to focus the output into a more tightly controlled, narrower beam. It puts out more than 3000 lux at 3m/10ft, with Litepanels claiming it is the brightest, most accurate 1x1 panel ever. It really is very strong, so be careful not to use too close to your talent. The beam angle is around 46°, where the Soft is 120°. To widen and soften the beam, Ultra Light and Domed Diffusers are supplied as standard. These diffusers do alter colour temperature, but this is easily corrected as you can fine-tune the colour with the three control knobs. Change the light in terms of RGBWW, gel, hue, saturation or intensity. Store one of these settings for instant recall, too. The Gemini 1x1 Hard is compact, weighing 6kg/13.25lb, including yoke and power supply. It has a maximum draw of just 200W and costs £1753/$2250 – it’s a professional unit that should last decades.
