A HELMET WITH A VIEW

Broadcast and production service provider Gravity Media has been debuting its Globecam cameras across English and Welsh cricket grounds this year – notably during The Hundred cricket tournament. The camera units are miniature live broadcast devices, that aim to provide unique angles to sports productions. Summer saw the use of HelmetCam and KeeperCam, both used for The Hundred. Broadcast by the likes of Sky Sports and the BBC, the HelmetCam provides audiences with an identical viewpoint to the batter, unlocking the thrill of a speeding ball and the excitement that comes with a hit or miss. The images captured by the device also act as useful diagnostic tools for pundits dissecting key moments in the game. The units contain Full HD 1080i/50 resolution and weigh just 230g in total. This comes after Gravity Media’s acquisition of Globecam from Telstra earlier this year.
