The third and final element is opportunity. We offer every chance for girls to fulfil their potential, through exceptional teacher support and our approach as a High Performance Learning World Class School. In terms of academic results, we offer all girls the challenge they need to reach their best. In 2021, we saw 66% A* and A grades at GCSE and 81% A* and A grades at A-level. But a St Mary’s education isn’t just about academic excellence. What is valued in equal measure by families and students are the opportunities we offer to build skills, develop resilience and explore new experiences.
We have built a proud reputation for placing a high priority on the mental and physical wellbeing of students. This is achieved through the school’s values, care and attention of teaching staff, and investment in initiatives to support wellbeing. All this works together to create the loving, happy community that so many of our alumnae remember fondly. Of course, our school is also somewhere genuine friendships form. For girls of any age, this is vital. Our Senior School is made up of girls joining from the Junior School, alongside those from various other independent schools in the local area – as well as our international boarders, who make up around 20% of the community.
