V ocas has unveiled its latest product, the Lightweight Base Plate (LWBP), designed to offer flexibility and ease of use for filmmakers across various camera platforms. The LWBP is lightweight, making it an ideal choice for both DSLR and cine camera set-ups. This new base plate is compatible with a wide range of camera brands and models, providing a straightforward solution for converting cameras into shoulder-mounted rigs. The LWBP includes a magnetically attached shoulder pad, available in soft or regular
fits, and can be mounted directly onto VCT-14-style quick-release plates. With multiple 3/8in and 1/4in threaded holes in the bottom, the base plate is designed for easy attachment to any tripod or surface. Additionally, the LWBP features industry-standard attachment points, facilitating seamless integration of various accessories. The height-adjustable 15mm front rails further enhance its versatility, allowing users to attach tools like matte boxes, lens motors and follow focus systems.
