ZHIYUN WEEBILL 3 While DJI is chasing the high-end cinema market with its RS 3 Pro and swathe of accessories, Zhiyun has decided to keep its focus on the needs of the small, independent mirrorless user. The Weebill 3 professional gimbal is a totally fresh design, built for improved ergonomics, light weight, more compact size – and comes with built-in microphone and fill light. The £489/$529 combo kit has the Weebill 3’s new design, branded the Sling 2.0 system. This is made up of a more stable L-shape handle, wrist rest and repositioned sling grip, said to give 40% more support to your wrist by shifting the weight onto your arm. And in practical terms, you really feel the difference once it’s adjusted to your arm, making long stretches of handholding more comfortable. It works great with the gimbal in ‘flashlight’ mode, and the main body horizontal. Wrist support only affects the right side, so the handle must go on the left. And controls are mainly designed for right-handed users. If you’re left-handed, you might want to try before you buy. At 1.1kg/2.4lb, the gimbal is pretty light anyway, and certainly compact, despite having longer arms than the older model. Zhiyun doesn’t state a maximum payload, but we used a mirrorless Sony A1 with 24mm f/1.4 G Master lens and there was no problem at all. A smaller Sony
