The inner is easy to modify and comes with some layout ideas for typical gear, including drones. The internal dividers are a good thickness, and attach securely with Velcro. The inner can also be removed entirely if required. At 4.6kg/10.1lb, the Tough-55 High Lid is by no means light on its own, and gets pretty hefty when fully loaded, so while it is carry-on friendly in terms of size, check for weight restrictions if you’re flying. The case’s lid locks open to prevent it falling or blowing closing, and its locks are big and strong. It has a great feeling of solidity, and takes plenty of punishment.
Roomy, well built, practical and with a high level of protection, the Manfrotto Pro Light Reloader Tough-55 High Lid roller case is a great choice. Its hard shell and stacking design alsomean it’s excellent for storing kit safely. The Tough-55 High Lid is a decent size, with internal dimensions of 26x17x50cm/10.2x6.7x19.7in, and you can fit a good amount of gear, including twomirrorless or DSLR bodies, three pro lenses, an external hard drive, spare batteries and radio mics. You can even fit in a gimbal, small slider or monitor with a bit of rearrangement. The case can also carry a tripod, or a longer slider, using the included accessory strap, which mounts on the lid and has a padded nylon foot and a clip at the top.
