I f you totally, absolutely demand the highest-resolution, most sharply detailed video files from a mirrorless camera, then you must buy the new Canon EOS R5. Its ludicrously large 8192x5464 pixel resolution – 8K that is - is simply the new gold standard and will give you bragging rights over all your peers’ lesser cameras. Take that, 6K Panasonic S1H or the paltry 4K from the Sony A7S III. If bigger is
far more than just its headline maximum resolution. And nowhere is this more obvious than the new Canon EOS R5, which has issues around shooting in the highest resolution settings. In 8K or in the highest-quality 4K settings (which downsamples the 8K files for super-detailed 4K that’s pretty much just as stunning) or the headline-grabbing 4K/120p setting, then there is
better in your world, then the 8K EOS R5 is best. Especially when you team it up with some of the fantastic new Canon RF-mount professional glass.
