FUJIFILM X-T4
and 1080/60p. But a 1.29x crop in 4K/ 60p. And Boost IS mode can be applied on top, which tells the camera you are trying to lock off the shot, so it tries to stabilise everything, rather than attempting to work out whether you are trying to pan, for example. It’s an advanced system and works very well, especially at shorter focal lengths, which makes a great run-and-gun camera. It’s no replacement for a tripod or gimbal, though. But a camera is all about the images it produces, and the Fujifilm X-T4 delivers in both 4K and HD settings. Just as on the X-T3, we found the standard colours for shooting video are bright and punchy, which some might find a bit too strong. But shooting Log and grading in post, or using one of the Film Simulation ‘looks’, will give you more options. There is very little rolling shutter and noise only starts to be a problem at 6400 ISO and above. If you regularly need to use higher ISO settings than that, you probably need to think about a full-frame camera. What is obvious is that the X-T4 continues Fujifilm’s traditional, distinctly retro cameras, which are rugged and weatherproof metal objects of desire. One that takes great pics, looks stylish and has a video spec that shames many of its full-frame rivals.

THE VERDICT The newFujifilmX-T4 is a great all-round performer, especially for shooters who do stills and video. Its performance as amoviemaking machine is enhanced by a fully articulating screen, five-axis in-body image stabilisation and glorious 240fps HD super slow motion, which allows the AF system to stay in play. For video shooters, these are reasons enough to chop in the X-T3 and upgrade. It can also internally record 10-bit 4K up to 400Mbps with frame rates up to 60fps, with F-Log Gamma for a wide dynamic range. It might not have the full-frame sensormany of its rivals have, but it shoots fantastic video. If a Super 35-sized sensor is big enough to helpwin an Oscar for Jojo Rabbit , then it’s good enough for you.
