The cinematography in Seven Worlds, One Planet is breathtaking, and drones are used in such a fantastic way. The operators have used unique perspectives to show off the scale of some of the wildlife as well as capture scenes that haven’t been possible before without this technology. The show is a fantastic insight into parts of the world often not seen, with an underlying message that’s more relevant than ever.
Drones allow shooters to capture interesting and unique perspectives and, with the introduction of smaller and higher-quality options, they are more widely available than ever. Helicopters have their benefits but for most wildlife productions the cost and logistics behind shooting with one are often not worth it. Drones like the DJI Inspire 2 give productions a fantastic option for capturing great imagery with a small physical and environmental footprint.
