And just like that it’s nearly winter, but what an autumn it has been! Ask any normal person for their thoughts on this time of year, and they’ll likely respond with grumpy mutterings about having to put the heating on or how depressing it is now the clocks have changed. Ask a photographer on the other hand – especially a landscaper – and you’ll have a very different conversation. Beautiful misty mornings, crisp afternoons and golden hour at a reasonable time of day all combine with a spectacular display of colour to turn this time of the year into a dream, for Northern Hemisphere shooters at least. My apologies to any of our readers south of the equator who may be feeling left out – but at least you have the buzz of spring to enjoy. While we have all been busy taking photos, the industry has been busy launching the gear we use to do it. We’ve had new products from Leica, Fujifilm, Canon, Nikon and Tamron to name a few. There have also been some fantastic competitions in the news. Whether calling for entries or announcing winners, they have been as varied as they are inspiring. You can see for yourself in our news

Measuring 127x96.8x66.5mm and weighing in at just 495g, it should be comfortable filming handheld. On paper, all this creates a great entry-level camera, but can it deliver in practice?
