Technically, the M11-D is equipped with Leica’s full-frame sensor as well as its Triple Resolution Technology, allowing users to select between 60MP, 36MP or 18MP resolutions for their images. The camera also supports continuous shooting at 60MP, achieving up to 5fps, backed by a 3GB cache. The ISO range is 64 to 50,000, while the 256GB internal storage offers substantial space. Photolab 8 is the latest iteration of DxO’s Raw image editing software, offering a range of new features and enhancements. This version introduces Deepprime XD2s – the second generation of its renowned noise reduction and detail enhancement engine. DxO claims this technology allows users to achieve higher image quality at elevated ISO settings. It also introduces a live preview magnifier to offer real-time feedback on noise reduction and other adjustments, with zoom levels up to 1600%. The latest camera in Leica’s M series has done away with the
traditional rear LCD screen and replaced it with a large analogue ISO dial. According to Leica, this is designed to encourage users to focus on essential photography elements like composition, aperture, shutter speed and ISO, echoing the manual handling of older cameras. While features like selecting file formats, white balance settings and image review are not accessible on the M11-D itself, they can be controlled via Leica’s Fotos app – along with remote control, photo transfer and geotagging.
