While the 35mm is a great all-rounder and the 65mm performs well as a short telephoto – ideal for talking-head interviews. Since the trio work flawlessly with Sony’s advanced AF system, you can be sure everything appears sharp. To ensure alignment with future camera generations, each is compatible with Sigma’s optional USB docking station, for updating firmware – so should give solid service for a long time. They might lack the critical sharpness and wide maximum aperture of equivalent Sony G Masters, plus a focus hold button and clickless aperture ring, but offer fine performance at a decent price.
