Nostalgic Summer
is the name of my new Film Simulation recipe,
created in collaboration with Fujifilm. This is an exclusive JPEG seasoning that captures the spirit of the 1990s – drawing inspiration from film-like colours, classic movies and day trips to the seaside. With soft, warm tones, it’s perfect for golden hour, road trips or wandering around local markets and car boot sales. It’s designed to deliver a laid-back, nostalgic feel – straight out of camera. The base is built off the rich tones of NOSTALGIC Neg., but I tuned the balance – softer shadows, gentler highlights and a warm colour bias that brings a timeless aesthetic to JPEGs. There’s a subtle grain that adds a tactile, filmic texture – and I’ve used Color Chrome effect lightly to bring depth without overpowering the natural tones.
The settings are optimised for Fujifilm’s DR400, so they adapt well to changing light over a bright summer’s day. Whether you’re documenting small-town life, quiet beach moments or candid times with friends, this turns your JPEGs into something that feels nostalgic, cinematic and dreamy.
Soft, warm tones are what exemplify Josh’s Nostalgic Summer Film Simulation recipe
