“At St Mary’s, pupils find the inspiration, opportunity and support to pursue individual talents with confidence”

ocated close to Cambridge’s academic heart, St Mary’s School has been educating and empowering girls since 1898, developing engaged, compassionate young women with the aspirations, confidence and integrity to be themselves and help shape a better world. As a World Class High Performance Learning (HPL) school, St Mary’s teaches its students to understand how they learn, as well as what they learn. From the moment they start at St Mary’s, girls are taught to dream big and strive to reach their full potential. The result is excellent academic outcomes and young adults who are curious, community-minded, resilient and ready to go out and make a positive contribution to society. A PLACE FOR GIRLS Within Cambridgeshire, St Mary’s all-girls offer is unique. As the only single-sex school in the county, St Mary’s provides a space where gender stereotypes cannot thrive. The school’s first-class education status was recently exemplified

when it received the highest grade of ‘excellent’ in its ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate) inspection. St Mary’s achieved the top grade of ‘excellent’ in both aspects of the Education Quality Inspection, covering the quality of pupils’ academic achievements and their personal development. Inspectors also praised the quality of teaching and parents concurred, giving the school an outstanding overall satisfaction rate of 98%. A PLACE TO BE ME While academic accolades speak for themselves, studying at St Mary’s is about so much more. Exam qualifications open doors but it is a student’s self-belief, persistence and drive that keeps the door open. At St Mary’s, students will find the inspiration, opportunity and support they need to be themselves and pursue their individual talents with confidence and joy

so they can succeed in life, whatever their future ambitions. Whether a student’s interests are in sports or STEM, St Mary’s really is the place for her to be herself! A PLACE WITH NO LIMITS At St Mary’s, all subjects are ‘for girls’. In a nurturing, supportive environment, students are encouraged to pursue their interests with no academic path off limits. St Mary’s teachers work hard to instil pupils with a passion for maths and science; subjects that girls have historically been less keen to pursue, particularly in co-ed settings. The school’s state-of-the-art STEM facilities, including its STEM Learning Lab located in the Junior School, give pupils everything they need to experiment, explore, design, test and perfect their innovation ideas. Students are also encouraged to excel at sport. There is access to coaching
