King’s Ely prides itself on being an academic school, but not a hothouse. There is a huge emphasis on personal development, both academically and socially. Yes, we rejoice in the success of students who achieve the highest accolades, but equally we celebrate young people who find the demands more challenging, yet still reach or exceed expectations through passion, commitment and hard work. Our students are renowned for their energy, courage and integrity. The adventure of a King’s Ely education enables pupils to flourish – whether that be our Reception children bolstering their team-building skills in Forest School, or our year 13 students reaping the benefits of being an Ely Scheme Outdoor Education pupil instructor. The progress students make from start to finish of their King’s Ely journey is astounding, accounting for our high placement in local and national value-
added rankings, and prompting a glowing review from The Good Schools Guide . The Guide writes: “King’s Ely pupils are privileged to be educated in such beautiful surroundings, although of course, they will not realise this until long after they have left. The tranquil atmosphere seems to be absorbed by osmosis and turns out well-rounded, likeable individuals who attain academically but also realise there is more to life than just results.
