ise was founded by the managing director of Bubble Agency, Sadie Groom, to promote gender diversity in
the broadcast industry – particularly the broadcast manufacturing and services sector. The Rise mentoring programme, now in its second year, pairs UK broadcast industry experts with new entrants with the goal of sharing skills and experience. This year, 20 mentees from the broadcast industry will receive 12 hours of mentoring contact with their assigned mentor. They will also have the opportunity to meet with their mentee group on a monthly basis, and attend networking events and workshops throughout the six-month mentorship period. In this month’s round table, we invited past Rise mentors and mentees – including the founder of Rise herself – to talk about their experiences of the programme, as well as gender issues within the industry.
