MEDIAKIND AQUILA GOES SAAS ON GOOGLE CLOUD TV technology provider MediaKind has extended a partnership with Google Cloud to offer its Aquila Streaming solution as-a- service on the Google Cloud platform. The launch enables MediaKind customers to tap into Google Cloud’s ecosystem to deploy its media processing capabilities and optimise the distribution of its OTT services. The result, according to MediaKind, is that customers will now be able to scale quicker, rapidly spin channels up with ease and respond to multiformat requirements without any compromise on delay.

It also provides access to a broader range of media applications and workloads through the cloud, such as containerisation, AI, machine learning and Android TV and Google ad insertion solutions. Disaster recovery in Google Cloud also removes the need for a second head- end system as the combination of Aquila Streaming and Google Cloud enables local head-end services and applications to be backed up and can be restarted quickly when required.
