What’s the company’s origin story? We are a mediatech start-up with an innovative streaming technology. The need for low latency, broadcast quality streaming for remote production has emerged with the Covid-19 pandemic. GlobalM offers a streaming service for media organisations to accept live streams from their own staff journalists and freelance reporters, or program guests directly from a smartphone. I co-founded the company with Paul Calleja (CTO), who I worked with in a major media organisation for many years. We developed contacts across the world, many in organisations looking for new, cost-effective ways of doing live coverage and remote production in broadcast quality. We searched for a complete media broadcast streaming solution, but couldn’t find it. So, we built it instead! What is the company working on right now? We have developed an intelligent network orchestration software that drives a smartphone app and other video encoding platforms for broadcasters and media organisations. Our SRT gateway technology is fully functional. The app is developed for high-quality contribution, capturing the raw image frames and processing them with the smartphone hardware encoder. This, combined with

an advanced streaming network based on a CDN (Content Delivery Network) architecture, connects the stream at its closest point of presence on the network and delivers it to the media organisation or event on a fast, dedicated backbone. The application and network are perfect solutions for remote production, mobile news gathering, and video contribution within media networks. It is designed to be simple to use, yet powerful enough for media organisations seeking a solution for all types of remote coverage – currently being done via traditional video conferencing or social video streaming applications. European Film Awards and one of the world’s toughest one-day cycling races in Switzerland, showed just how well the technology can scale. For the European Film Awards, more than 40 live streams were coming from different nominees around Europe, and all of them were displayed at the same time on two large LED video walls in the Berlin-based studio. Our focus is on providing professional streaming for broadcast- quality technology for remote productions and hybrid events. A new normal, with live contribution from around the work in high quality, low latency. What is the next step for the company? Recent productions, such as the
