In addition, the company is working on several AI solutions it believes will provide

utger Pinas and Aksel van der Wal met over five years ago and established

meaningful benefits to clients and is engaged in advanced talks around potential partnerships. Sequel is also working on some interesting opportunities within the automotive industry. What is the next step? The next step for Sequel is to scale its operations and deepen its presence in the US market, as the company is currently based out of Europe. It is developing specialised programmes that provide short- term, goal-orientated services for new clients while nurturing long-term partnerships. Sequel is also focused on leveraging the power of data and AI to optimise the quality of streaming platforms and deliver media experiences tailored to specific client needs. The company is keen to finalise several partnerships that focus on delivering premium-quality services and solutions. What one thing does the company need most? Sequel’s top priority is to grow its business and build strong partnerships with forward- thinking organisations within the sports, media and entertainment, automotive and enterprise industries – as well as the creator community. Its leaders believe these sectors still have a lot of potential and can benefit from Sequel’s expertise. Additionally, attracting top-tier talent in software engineering, data science and creative development is critical to further strengthening the organisation’s identity as a provider of premium-quality services and solutions.

an immediate rapport. At that time, van der Wal was serving as COO of Warner Media International, while Pinas was the founder and CEO of TWC, a prominent European OTT app development company. Their shared values, vision and pursuit of excellence formed the foundation of their strong partnership, which ultimately played a pivotal role in TWC’s successful acquisition by what is now Warner Bros Discovery. TWC’s teams were instrumental in leading significant OTT initiatives, including the development of HBO Max. After departing from their respective roles, they reunited in Amsterdam to discuss the state of the streaming industry, technological advancements and the growing influence of AI. They recognised that organisations require specialised support within this evolving landscape, especially at an executive level. It is difficult for someone sitting within an organisation to keep on top of everything. For example, it can be hard

to understand which part of the AI hype makes sense and what doesn’t. Given their extensive experience – both within large organisations as well as on the advisory and investment side – they are able to assess which solutions actually provide tangible benefits and which ones don’t. The pair co-founded Sequel to empower video- centric companies on their growth journey through their vast expertise.
