SSD DRIVE MOUNTING SOLUTIONS

Recording to an external SSD is a great idea, but then you will need something to hold the drive, rather than just letting it dangle from a cable. Several different companies make clamping devices to fit different cameras and SSD drives. One of the biggest ranges, and least expensive, is from SmallRig, which tends to make drive-specific clamps to fit to its range of standard camera cages, although there is a specific mount to fit a Samsung SSD T5 to a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K or 6K and a Z Cam. Currently, the range includes a mount for the Lacie Rugged SSD, Lacie Portable SSD and Samsung SSD T5, as well as universal clamps to hold SSDs or powerbanks.
