SHINE BRIGHTLY Sign up now for the Star Shine Night Walk, taking place in June to raise vital funds for compassionate care in Cambridgeshire
T his summer, Arthur Rank Hospice Charity invites you to its much loved flagship fundraiser, the Star Shine Night Walk, returning to Cambridge on Saturday 20 June 2026. The event will bring our community together not just to celebrate, but also to remember. After 550 incredible supporters took part last year, this year’s event is guaranteed to be even bigger and brighter as our community strides side by side, on one of the longest days of the year, to raise vital funds for the Hospice. With a target of £60,000, we’re asking you to gather friends, family and colleagues to fundraise. It’s the perfect way to spend a Saturday night with purpose: supporting compassionate care for those who need it most across Cambridgeshire. The event is open to all; no connection to the charity is necessary. Starting and finishing at Shelford Rugby Club, you can choose from a ten or five mile route, the latter also being wheelchair accessible, making it an ideal outing for families, friends and community members. The Star Shine Night Walk is open to anyone aged 10+ (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult). Four-legged friends are welcome to join too! Walkers will enjoy a beautiful night walk, complete with sunset views and a sense of camaraderie. It will be both uplifting and reflective, offering moments to share stories and support one another. Sharon and Mike Marshall, who took on a previous Cambridge Star Shine Night Walk, said afterwards: “We are absolutely blown away by the whole evening, and can’t wait for next year’s event – looking forward to wearing fancy dress for that one!” Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people in Cambridgeshire who live with an advanced serious illness, other life-limiting condition or need end-of-life care.
