Stoke College

toke College is the educational antidote to a city hot-house school. Set in 29 acres of rural parkland, complete with its own frontage of the River Stour, Stoke College students achieve their academic best through inspirational teaching and excellent pastoral care. This is an independent co-educational school with a unique approach to senior education, underpinned by passion, warmth and respect. Academically successful (recent examination results were 85% A*-B at A-level and 72% grades 5-9 at GCSE, with graduates at Oxbridge and Russell Group universities), Stoke College offers small class sizes to give students individual attention, thus supporting excellent academic progress and ‘value-added’

attainment. We are proud that students at both ends of the academic spectrum exceed regional and national expectations. Years 7 to 9 receive a broad curriculum, including two languages, drama, music, design and food technology. Our inspirational setting provides the perfect location for a range of team and individual sports, together with our annual festivals and events celebrating the College campus. Physical education is recognised as a key activity for good physical and mental health. Students take part in PE lessons to enhance their sporting skills and abilities, with games lessons featuring match fixtures in rugby, hockey, netball, football, cricket and more. The curriculum is further enhanced by our unique Diploma programmes: The Stoke College Diploma in Character and Resilience (years 7 to 11) and The Stoke College Diploma in Global Competencies (years 12 and 13). Both diplomas have been professionally devised to develop leadership and teamwork skills, humour and integrity, resilience and perseverance. The geographical location of Stoke College means it is within easy reach of Cambridge, Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Colchester, Braintree and Saffron Walden. We recognise the needs
