WINE ROOMS Enjoy an evening of vinous discovery at The Wine Rooms, which is hosting a number of tastings this month. Taking place on Thursdays, the events offer a selection of wines, tasty nibbles from The Modern Table, and expert insight from the restaurant’s sommelier and various guest speakers. On 2 February, discover Unexplored France, sampling Domaine de la Source and Château Barbanau’s Clos Val Bruyère, or on the 16th, head on a tour of Chinon, the Loire’s largest red wine appellation. Each tasting is £30, and includes a minimum of five glasses.

Ben’s Yard Set to open in spring this year, Ben’s Yard is a major new retail and dining destination on the Stuntney Estate near Ely. As well as homeware stores, a florist, kids’ play area and luxury spa, it’s set to put the area on the culinary map with a huge food hall and cafe. The cafe will offer an eclectic menu of modern British and international classics using the area’s vast wealth of produce, while the interiors – botanical in theme – will create a stylish setting. It will open seven days a week, and boasts an outdoor terrace with heaters if you’d like to eat alfresco.
