MIX IT & MAKE IT

Get in the Christmas spirit at Cambridge Gin Lab on Green Street, which is hosting a pair of exciting interactive workshops this month. On Christmas Eve at 2pm, there’s a lovely pre-festive treat in the shape of the Make It session: an hour-long class where guests explore distillates and botanicals to create their very own gin, tailored to their tastes, which they’ll be able to enjoy as a martini. On New Year’s Eve, the lab is running a Mix It interactive experience where guests learn to make and mix three delicious cocktails based on the distillery’s award- winning gins. An excellent kick-start for your NYE festivities! cambridgedistillery.co.uk

GAIL’S BAKERY OPENS

London bakery Gail’s has made a rare venture beyond the capital with a new bakery at The Grafton. Famed for its range of loaves, it has expanded from its first shop in Hampstead to more than 50 in neighbourhoods in and around London. Gail’s Cambridge, which opened last month, is found just outside the front of The Grafton, and offers fresh handmade bread, plus a range of salad pots, pastries and cakes, as well as house blend coffee. Up for something more filling? Then try seasonal breakfasts, lunches, plus the option of afternoon tea. The Christmas collection features mince pies and buns, and Christmas bauble biscuits, which are iced and can be eaten, or decorate your tree, too. The Christmas sandwich is turkey and cheese on wasteless sourdough. gailsbread.co.uk
